In response to Gymnastics Australia’s recent announcement to cease to be the National Governing Body for cheer, the Australian Cheer Sport Alliance (ACSA) would like to confirm that an application has been submitted to the ICU to be the recognised body for cheerleading in Australia.
The application will be tabled at the ICU General Assembly meeting held in April prior to the 2018 World Cheerleading & Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida.
Steps to satisfy the criteria to be recognised with the Australian Sports Commission are also currently being undertaken.
